I cannot remember my username and/or password. What should I do?

Pro Online Forgot Username

Make sure you are going to the correct URL:

 

https://vita.taxslayerpro.com/ProAvalon/Corelink

 

Select the "Forgot Username" button on this screen and enter the email address associated with your account.

You will receive an email from vita.taxslayerpro.com with all of your Pro Online usernames.  The heading of this email reads "TaxSlayer VITA/TCE: Username Reminder".

Be sure and check your spam/junk/clutter folder, as this email may be filtered there rather than your inbox.

Your site admin can provide your username as well.

Pro Online Forgot Password

 

Make sure you are going to the correct URL:

 

https://vita.taxslayerpro.com/ProAvalon/Corelink

 

Select the "Forgot Password" button on this screen and enter your username.

You will be prompted to MFA in order to change your password.  You will need to send this 6 digit code to your email or text.  

Select the desired option and then click "Send Code".  You must leave this screen open.  You can minimize this window and open up a new one or simply open a new tab to access your personal email.  

Copy and paste this code in the "Verify" entry box.  

You will then be prompted to change your password.

The password must contain a minimum of 8 characters.  There has to be at least 1 uppercase letter, 1 lowercase letter, 1 number, and 1 special character.  The following are acceptable special characters:

!@$%*?&

 

Practice Lab Forgot Username

 

To access the Practice Lab, go to the following URL:

 

https://vita.taxslayerpro.com/IRSTraining/en/Account/Access

 

The initial password must be entered in ALL CAPS. If you do not know what this password is, please contact your site admin or SPEC Relationship Manager.

You will be prompted to enter the email address associated with your Practice Lab account.

You will receive an email from vita.taxslayerpro.com with your Practice Lab username.  The heading of this email reads "IRS Practice Lab - Username Recovery".

Be sure and check your spam/junk/clutter folder, as this email may be directed there rather than your inbox.

 

Practice Lab Forgot Password

 

To access the Practice Lab, go to the following URL:

 

https://vita.taxslayerpro.com/IRSTraining/en/Account/Access

 

The initial password must be entered in ALL CAPS. If you do not know what this password is, please contact your site admin or SPEC Relationship Manager.

Click "Forgot Password".

On the following screen enter your username.

Enter the answer to your security question (Case Sensitive).

If you are successful in answering this question, you will be prompted to change your password. 

The password must contain a minimum of 15 characters.  There has to be at least 1 Uppercase letter, 1 lowercase letter, 1 number, and 1 special character.  The following are acceptable special characters:

!@$%*?&

If you have forgotten the answer to your security question, select "Forgot Answer".

You will be prompted to enter the email address associated with your Practice Lab account.

After successfully sending the email, you need to leave the Practice Lab screen open.  You can minimize this window and open up a new one or simply open a new tab to access your email account.

You will receive an email from vita.taxslayerpro.com with your Practice Lab username.  The heading of this email reads "IRS Practice Lab - Password Reset".

Be sure and check your spam/junk/clutter folder, as this email may be directed there rather than your inbox.

The email will contain a 10 character security code.  Copy and paste this code in the "Confirmation Code" box on the Practice Lab recover screen and select "Submit".

You will be prompted to change the password.
